- Last night, as dusk fell, the fireflies appeared! They seemed to arrive suddenly... unannounced... these little snippets of light - on/off/on/off... flitting in the darkness full of whimsey and surprise. I sat and watched and realized, as the air seemed alive, that this is a good example of the Kingdom of Heaven that constantly (often invisibly) surrounds us. The night was glittering with life and light... pulsing with the Presence and Beauty of God! I sat in awe and gratitude for my eyes and for this glorious backyard. At one point, a lone deer walked slowly across the yard through the starry field. Such Peace! Such Beauty! Thank You, Lord! 


+You get it, My honey! Your eyes are open and you are privy to the endearing heart of your Father, Who loves to fill the earth with hints of the Beauty of the Kingdom! When you are ever on the lookout, you won't ever be disappointed! The wonders He's prepared for all His children defy imagination. All that is required are open eyes! This is His heart whispering, "Come!" These seemingly insignificant things, like the silent beckoning of these winsome fireflies, are not trivial. As you become more aware, the larger picture comes into focus. The tender Heart of your Father is calling your name! He has mysteries to divulge, secrets of His heart to woo you with until you are powerfully aware of the enormity of His Love. Yes, all of creation is His love letter to you! The invitation: "Be still and know that I am God!" is another way of saying, "Let Me love you!" It takes great faith to believe that the God of the universe cares so deeply about you! But when you understand the great Gift of His One and Only Rose of Sharon, just so that He could have you back, all the beauty of this summer evening (which pales in comparison the glory of the Kingdom) makes incongruous sense! You make Your Papa smile when you just come and stay still and let Him love you! This has been His plan and purpose since the creation of the world. He loved you before you were knit together in your mother's womb. He knew you then and called you to be His. The fact that this is the great longing of your heart... well... that's what all the fireflies are celebrating! Deep in your spirit, you understand that you've been adopted by the King Who loves to delight you! It's an uneven exchange. You delight in Him and He gives you the desires of your heart! This is the Kingdom come. Only those who are looking... waiting... can perceive the glory that is hiding in plain sight! Rejoice, beloved. Feel extravagantly loved. You are!
